The Enterprise Application Engineer helps build robust integrations and internal customizations to 3rd party Enterprise Systems used across our various business units including Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal and HR. This role is key to help scale our organization and improve our business processes.


Osmose builds our integrations and internal customizations using a variety of technologies including: SQL Server Enterprise and .Net, internal customization scripting languages that requires knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.  Experience NetSuite (SuiteTalk and SuiteScript), ServiceNow, Ultipro, and Qlik Sense is also required.


Not only will you be building data integrations across applications for reporting purposes, most importantly you will be automating workflows across the application environments to allow us to vastly improve our productivity and efficiency.  We are looking for engineers that understand that simplicity and reliability are key attributes that drive long term maintainability. Understanding how short term decision making impacts the application over its entire lifecycle is key to success with our team.


This position is based in Peachtree City, GA and reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.


In addition to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience, critical competencies include: 

  • You have experience building enterprise grade integrations with an eye towards performance, scalability and security.
  • You’ve been building integrations and customizations professionally for 5+ years and can point to things you’ve worked on.
  • You have experience with web stack programming languages -- e.g., C#.Net, MS SQLServer, HTML5, CSS & Javascript.
  • You can jump into situations with few guardrails and make things better.
  • You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.
  • You are a strong communicator and explaining complex technical concepts to other engineers is no problem for you.
  • You know how the web works. You know HTTP and TCP/IP and what a good API looks like.
  • You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
  • You know how to build reliable and safe distributed systems and understand the tradeoffs made when engineering a feature.
  • When things break -- and they will -- you are eager and able to help fix things.
  • You are someone that others enjoy working with due to your technical competence and positive attitude.

Differentiators: Experience with NetSuite SuiteTalk and SuiteScript and other enterprise applications such as ServiceNow and Ultipro; experience using PHP or Ruby without a framework, Hive/Presto, Slack API and writing bots, and solid experience with SQL.


Regular activities include: 

  • Collaborate with other teams across Osmose to gather requirements.
  • Actively stay apprised of third party business systems and their API’s and internal scripting languages.
  • Build a new integration, with documentation and tests to support our large-and-growing employee base.
  • Whiteboard a fix to a business problem -- and then make it happen.
  • Collaborate with peers to write, review, or provide feedback on a technical design proposal.
