Overview

This position will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and VP – Human Resources.  The HR Assistant will assist with department wide data entry including tracking work-related assessments, DOT qualifications, new hire and rehire onboarding data, and separation information into company’s HRIS for hourly and field employee groups.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one (1) year related HR experience preferred with knowledge of, or ability to learn general HR policies, practices and procedures; multi-state workforce experience helpful
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and internet research skills; aptitude to effectively learn and master new software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills to include prioritizing and managing tasks efficiently to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain and ensure strict confidentiality and produce a high volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Solid problem solver that can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and proactivity contribute to process improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high volume data entry, verification, and troubleshooting of new hire and rehire information into HR system
  • Compiles, maintains, processes, and audits HR related documentation; assessments, qualifications, new hire, transfer, and personnel changes, ensuring necessary paperwork and documentation is securely and confidentially maintained in proper files and updated
  • May provide backup duties to other HR team members including but not limited to running background checks, facilitating reference checks, etc.
  • Provides general support to the other Human Resource Team members as needs arise
  • Assists in providing information and resolving problems of employees and managers regarding human resources related inquiries
  • Assists with verifying employment and answering questions from outside agencies
  • Interacts with all levels of supervision and management as necessary to exchange information concerning human resources activities with assigned areas of responsibility
  • Performs project support as assigned to assist in fulfilling departmental objectives
