  • Overview

    Under the direction and guidance from project managers, project engineers and management, this position provides specifications, repair designs, technical documents, reports, calculations, field support, training and quality control that maximizes the value of the company’s industry-leading corrosion services and products. 

     

    This position can be based in our Atlanta Midtown location or Peachtree City.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide field support and Quality Assurance for assigned Corrosion Services project types (inspections, engineering, repairs, cathodic protection, etc.).
    • Write reports and technical documents.
    • Perform calculations and drafting of repair designs under the direction of Project Engineers.
    • Interact with customers via phone, email and web as necessary to support Corrosion Services.
    • Provide live training, webinars and demos as required to support existing and potential field and customer training requirements relating to corrosion inspection and repair.
    • Perform inspections and field work in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Assists in planning and prioritizing cathodic protection and corrosion control within project guidelines.
    • Evaluates corrosion control processes and procedures; suggests modifications and updates to improve efficiency, clarity, and understanding.
    • Support pilot projects for all business units by providing field support, writing reports and compiling data for presentations.
    • Support R&D projects by participating in field work, performing data collection, compiling data and writing reports.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or engineering technology (civil, structural) from an accredited program and prior experience with the testing of concrete, steel and soils; experience detailing utility structures a plus.
    • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination and certification as an Engineer In Training (EIT).
    • Willingness to participate in additional training and certifications to support the company’s corrosion program such as NACE Basic Corrosion, NACE Level I CIP, NACE Level I CP
    • Willingness to occasionally travel overnight (0-20%) and work varied hours, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, to achieve desired results.
    • Valid driver’s license.
